Can you believe it is already Fall? Many of you are busy harvesting the fruit God has faithfully produced from the seed of his word that you planted this past summer. For some of you the seeds you wanted to plant are still sitting in your box of good intentions. The good news is a new season has come. God knew we needed new beginnings, so he gave us new days and new seasons. His desire is for us always to begin again.
The Lord led me to a verse in Ecclesiastes the other day and he really spoke to me through it. Ecc. 11:4 says, “Whoever watches the wind will not plant, whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.” The New Living Translation says, “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.” To often when a new season comes we simply beat ourselves up over what we didn’t do last season. Then with the burden of guilt and shame that we carry we look at the new season and see all the reasons why this is a less than an ideal time to start again.
Don’t let the enemy win. God still desires you to grow. He planned long ago for you to live a life that would produce much fruit. Jesus said to us in John 15 "Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can't bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can't bear fruit unless you are joined with me.” Mark 4:20 says, "But the seed (God’s word) planted in the good earth (your heart) represents those who hear the Word, embrace it, and produce a harvest beyond their wildest dreams."
I know each of us wants to produce a harvest beyond our wildest dreams. God is so willing. We simply have to look to Him and take our eyes off all our circumstances and excuses. We must receive his word in to our hearts and he will produce a harvest at the end of the season. That is his guarantee.
Please keep coming for “Growing Tips” and I will encourage you a long the way.
